U.S. Remain the Topmost International Destination for Indian Students

The United States persist to be the top international destination for Indian students who comprise for 17 percent of all international students in United States as according to United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF).

According to USIEF, “United States remain the top international destination for Indian students, hosting over 186,000, twice as many as a decade ago. Indians make up 17 percent of all international students in U.S. today.”

The USIEF’s main aim is to boost mutual understanding between the nationals of India and U.S. through educational exchange of outstanding scholars, professionals and students.

The ambassador and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Educational and Cultural Affairs at U.S. Department, Jennifer Zimdahl Galt visited USIEF all over the weekend to emphasize the importance the U.S. government places on advancing educational exchanges between the world’s two largest democracies.

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) mission is to process mutual understanding between the people of United States and the people of other countries by means of educational and cultural exchange that aid in the evolution of peaceful relations.

Galt likewise met Fulbright Program students including Americans perusing course of study in India as well Indian alumni of U.S. colleges and universities. In the meet, Indian graduates shared their experiences studying abroad and discussed how they benefited from U.S. education.

The assemblage came at commencement of Ambassador Galt’s week long visit to India and Bhutan.

In report to the Ambassador, Galt, Education United Sates of America stated that, “Contrary to some reports, the appetite for studying in U.S. remains high among Indian students. Prospective applicants report that they are most attracted by high-quality of education, the international value placed on U.S. degrees, the opportunity to form a lifelong connection with the country.”
