The high rate of crime against women and rage triggered by recent #MeToo movement might have contaminated India's image all over, but a recent study has come with a pleasingly surprising fact that Indians approach the gender equations in relationships sensitively than anybody had thought, Mashable India reported.

OkCupid, an American-based online dating application, asked about gender roles in relationships to millennials and how they see the #MeToo movement and the consequences were impressive.

According to the study, 92 percent of women think the responsibility of running a household and raising children should be borne equally by the partners - a finding which is predictable though. However, when the study showed that 88 percent of male respondents also saying the same, it surely makes one hopeful about the future.

While 81 percent of men supported the #MeToo movement, 85 percent of women similarly did the same. In addition, 86 percent of all men and women in the OkCupid community believes that pestering at workplaces is not something to be tolerated and that they would back a coworker who faces such an ordeal.

On the query of feminism, whereas 80 percent of both men and women in the OkCupid community called themselves feminist, only 17 percent of males were worried whether the person they date is a feminist. In the case of women, 53 percent would not date someone who is not a feminist.
