Many times we have seen sports people being associated with fashion and beauty, but Sania Mirza, who recently won a Wimbledon title, says she enjoys the same things as other women do. The tennis star walked the ramp at the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) on Monday, displaying the collection of designer Moni Agarwal for her brand ‘Zohrakshi’.
IIJW will end on Thursday. The Jewelry show was launched in 2010 and this is the sixth edition to showcase finest Indian jewellery with innovative design.
"I’m a girl first"- Sania says
On the opening day of the show, Sania said, “I am a sportsperson but I’m a girl first. And that’s why I’m fond of jewellery just like any other girl. Being a sportsperson doesn’t mean that I don’t have desires and wishes that other women have.”
Sania Mirza has walked the ramps at a number of occasions earlier, including Indian Bridal Fashion Week, the Global Fashion Show, the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, etc. She is not a stranger for fashion.
The tennis star also said that it is a proud moment for her to win Wimbledon along with Martina Hingis. It was Sania’s first doubles victory under women’s group. Earlier, Sania won three titles under the mixed doubles category.
