Walmart Canada plans to stop accepting Visa!

The retailer giant Walmart in Canada is all set to stop accepting Visa cards after it failed to make a deal with the credit card firm. The company said in a statement, that, fees applied to Visa card purchases "remain unacceptably high."

The move will be effective in across the nation. The service will be no longer in function in its Thunder Bay store from 18 July.

"Walmart made this business decision despite Visa offering one of the lowest rates available to any merchant in the country," a spokesperson said.

"To ensure we are taking care of our customers' best interests and delivering on our promise of saving customers money, we constantly work to reduce our operating costs, including credit card fees," Walmart Canada said.  

There is around 370 Walmart stores in Canada.
