New Zealand Defeats India in first One-day International

Cricket has witnessed on Wednesday, that India has been defeated by New Zealand in the first One- day International of the series of three matches.

The match had been played in Hamilton on Wednesday.

New Zealand has chased down the run target of 348 with 11 balls to spare where Ross Taylor has scored a hundred while handy contributions have been made by Henry Nicholls and Tom Latham. The top scorer of the New Zealand team was Ross Taylor who has scored 109 off 84 balls and had remained not out.

The Player of the Match has been awarded to Ross Taylor.

India batted in the first innings of the match where in the country India has scored 347 for four in the 50 overs that had been stipulated. Shreyas Iyer has scored his maiden ODI century with 103 off 107 balls and K.L. Rahul has remained unbeaten and has scored 88 in 64 balls. The skipper Virat Kohli has scored 51.

The win that has been made by New Zealand on Wednesday is the first win of the country since India has landed in New Zealand. The chase has been quite comfortable for the Kiwis but had lost wickets of Tom Latham (69), James Neesham (9) and Colin de Grandhomme (1) when their targets were close enough to be reached.
