The speculations are over! Time Magazine has finally revealed the list of finalists for 2013's Person of the Year title. And quite interestingly, the publication's list includes names of a farrago of famous personalities - from infamous leader to twerker to leaker - who have all hogged the headlines this year and influenced the world, for better or worse.
The Time's annual honor is conferred every year to each years' top news maker. The winner is ultimately picked by the editors of the magazine.
The frontrunners for this years' Time's title is US President Barack Obama, pop singer Miley Cyrus, Pope Francis, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden, Edie Windsor, Senator Ted Cruz, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
President Barack Obama, who was named 2012's Person of the Year, also is on this year's list of candidates.
An online poll on the Today website shows that Pope Francis is the fan-favorite, raking in 62-percent of the vote. Snowden takes the number two spot with 14-percent. Cyrus is the third-most-popular with 8-percent of the vote.
Time will announce the 2013 Person of the Year on the Today Show on Wednesday.
