The WIN/Gallup survey for ORB International's 'International World Leader Index' revealed that PM Narendra Modi stood seventh in the list of most popular leaders in the world, in which US President Barack Obama topped. Chinese President Xi Jinping had beaten Modi to stand sixth in the list.

People belonging to 65 countries took part in the poll. Modi received 24% favorable view and was opposed by 20%, getting a score of +4%. Chinese President Xi Jinping had higher unfavourable score of 30% compared to the Indian leader.

Obama topped the list with a whopping 59% in his favor and 29% unfavourable, with an overall score of +30%.

According to the survey, "President Obama is significantly more admired around the world than anyone else."

German Chancellor Angela Merkel followed Obama with +13% score and British Prime Minister David Cameron stood third with +10% score. He was viewed favorably by 37%, while another 28% viewed him unfavorably. South Asian people were friendlier towards the British leader, with 53% favoring him, while just 12% against or unfavorable towards him.

Interestingly, 445 of people of Europe and sub-Saharan Africa viewed Cameron favorably.

Other leaders in the top ten list include French President Francois Hollande (fourth position), Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin (fifth place), Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff (eighth spot), Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud (stood ninth) and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani (stood tenth).
