Modi takes a dig at Congress quoting Indira Gandhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday thanked the Opposition parties for letting Parliament function smoothly, while replying in Rajya Sabha on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address. "I thank the Opposition for allowing debates in the house. I am glad that over 300 amendments were passed in the session till now," he said.

Attacking the Congress during his speech, PM Modi asserted that the party is like death that never gets blamed for anything. "There is a funny thing about 'death', no one blames death. Instead, they blame the reason behind one's death. Sometimes it feels like Congress also has such a boon. When we criticise the Congress, it is reported as 'criticism on the Opposition, not criticism on the Congress'. Congress never gets a bad name.

(Mrutyu kabhi badnam nahi hota. Mrutyu par aarop nahi lagta. Kabhi kabhi lagta hai congress ko aisa vardaan hai. Vardaan yeh ki agar hum Congress ki alochana karein, vipaksh pe hamla, vipaksh pe aarop. Yeh kabhi nahi aata ki Congress par aarop. Congress ek aisa hai - jisko badnaami nahi milti.)
PM Modi quotes Indira Gandhi to take a dig at Congress, "There are two kinds of people in the world - one who work and others who take credit. There is less competition in the first category," Indira Gandhi said this.

I am grateful to Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, he brought a record of people who didn't have accounts under Jan Dhan Yojna. He worked as if he was using a microscope. It would have been better had Congress even worked with a binocular when it was in power.

Cleanliness is becoming a mass movement. For the first time, Parliament debated on it. Government may be criticised, but issue is being discussed. Cleanliness helps the poor
most. Due to lack of cleanliness the poor are forced to spend more money on medicines.

Emphasising on doubling agriculture income & value addition, more productivity in agriculture, Modi said that we should aim to double the income of farmers by 2022. I am not an economist like Manmohan Singh, thats why I am not that knowledgeable. But I know some things.

The biggest beneficiaries of MUDRA bank are SC/ST, OBC communities and women.
