Even as Kerala rains have stopped and water levels have receded, the thought of returning to homes destroyed in the floods and rebuilding it is unimaginably painful for those who have been displaced. Yet despite this, some are still clinging to hope and spreading joy among themselves.

For instance, at the relief camp in Kochi, an old man started dancing to a Tamil song, likely even giving Prabhu Deva a run for his money.

In a video that is going viral on social media platforms, the man, who identifies himself as Albi, is seen tirelessly dancing to 'Jingunamani' song from the movie Jilla, managing to create an environment of fun and frolic. While many, including children and old women, cheered him along with claps, a few shook a leg with him.

The video, which was posted from the GGHSS Relief Camp in South Kochi, is being shared widely.

In another camp, at a school in Cheranallor, Kochi, a woman jumps into a group of children dancing to the popular ‘Jimikki Kammal’ song.

And IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer Prasanth Nair, known to Malayalis as Collector Bro, shared the video and wrote: "The Kerala model of Relief Camp where you don't mourn but live your life. Live and kicking. Kerala is getting back. In the video, you see the live performance of Asiya Beevi & the kids at the relief camp set up at Baselios Vidyaniketan School, Cheranalloor."

Now, it can only be hoped that this would not be taken up by any troublemaker to spread another wrong message about Kerala floods. Singing and dancing at relief camps does not mean that everything is all right and that the flood victims do not need help. On Monday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the task of rehabilitating and rebuilding is only the beginning and that Kerala would need every little help from all quarters to recover the losses.
