These states to provide free travel, accommodation for JEE, NEET students

Due to the current pandemic and floods in the country, states like Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Chattisgarh decided to provide free travel and accommodation to JEE, NEET candidates.

The Supreme Court has ruled out the possibility of postponement of JEE, NEET 2020, and ordered the states to conduct the exams as per schedule. More than 17 lakh students have downloaded the admit cards despite the ongoing havoc demanding postponement of the exams.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and flood situations in several states, some Indian states have decided to provide free travel and accommodation to NEET and JEE attendees so that they don’t have to miss out on their exams due to lack of resources.

The National Testing Agency has scheduled the dates as September 13 to conduct NEET and JEE exams would be conducted between September 1 and 6.

The Madhya Pradesh government is all set to arrange free transport for candidates appearing for JEE and NEET examinations and the announcement of the same has been made by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday.

The arrangements will be done from block Headquarters and district headquarters of exam centers. Examinees can call 181 or can apply for the same by clicking on http://mapit.Gov.In/covid-19 from August 31.

In different tweets, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh said that the free transport facility can be availed by the associates of the students.

The Odisha government has also chosen to help its students by providing free transportation and accommodation to the applicants of Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in the state and the news of the same was confirmed by Asit Tripathy, the State Chief Secretary.

A total of 37,000 students will be appearing for the JEE mains examination and for that, a total of 26 exam centers have been set up in 7 cities of Odisha.

As per the directions by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the students who are appearing and need transportation and accommodation will be provided with the same facilities free of cost by the state government.

The district administrations have been advised to facilitate the movement of candidates and their parents and also their parents without any hindrance due to the lockdown and the coronavirus.

Odisha Chief Minister has ordered engineering college hostels to provide accommodation for these students as the hotels are shut down in the state.

He also directed the opening of nodal centers in every district for the opening of nodal centers to help the students and parents.

Chattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has also given instructions to all district collectors to make arrangements for transportation of JEE and NEET candidates to their exam centers and bring them back.

About 13,500 will appear in the examinations in the state. 5 centers have been set up for this examination in this regard.
