A total number of 1,45,384 new coronavirus cases are reported in the country in the last 24 hours and the total number of coronavirus cases reached 1,32,05,926. A total number of 1,19,90,859 people recovered from coronavirus in the country and the active cases crossed 10 lakh mark. The total number of active cases in the country are 10,46,631 and the death tally stands at 1,68,436. The total number of people who got vaccinated with coronavirus are 9,80,75,160. Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state with a total of 32.8 lakh cases. 794 people passed away in the country till date. 58,993 new cases are reported in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours in the state. Some of the states are heading for a weekend lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus. All the schools and colleges in New Delhi will be shut till further information.

A total number of 13 crores have been reported in the world till date and the death toll reached 29.15 lakhs. Congress President Sonia Gandhi held a meeting with the Chief Ministers that are led by Congress to review the situation of coronavirus. As per the reports coming from the Indian Council of Medical Research, the total samples tested yesterday are said to be 11,72,219 and the samples tested till date are said to be 25,52,14,803. Maharashtra Congress MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar died due to coronavirus complications. Punjab reported 3459 new cases and Telangana reported more than 3000 new cases for coronavirus. Mumbai and Pune continued to report huge number of cases on daily basis.
