Indian coronavirus tally dips below 1 Lakh

For the first time in the recent times, the daily tally of coronavirus cases in Indian reported less than 1 lakh cases. A month ago, the daily number was above the 4 lakh mark and a total number of 86,498 new cases are reported in the last 24 hours in India. The total number of cases for coronavirus reached 2,89,96,473. With 1,82,282 new discharges reported in the country in the last 24 hours, the total number of discharges in the country are said to be 2,73,41,462. 2123 new deaths are reported in the country and the total death tally reported reached 3,51,309. The total number of active cases in the country dropped further and are at 13,03,702. The total number of people who took up the vaccination shot for coronavirus are said to be 23,61,98,726.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Centre would provide the vaccinations for free for the states from June 21st. With the dip in the new cases and rise in the recoveries, the recovery rate climbed up for the 26th consecutive day and it stands at 94.29 percent. As per the data released by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total samples tested in India till date are at 36,82,07,596 and the samples tested yesterday are at 18,73,485. The CoWin vaccination certificates of all those who are heading for international travel for education and work opportunities will be linked to their passports. The National Institute of Virology in Pune said that the new coronavirus variant B.1.1.28.2 that is detected will cause serious symptoms.
