Coronavirus active cases reach lowest after 71 Days

A total number of 67,208 new cases for coronavirus are reported in the country in the last 24 hours. The total tally of cases in the country reached 2,97,00,313. The discharges continued to be higher than the newly reported cases in India. The new discharges in the country are said to be 1,03,570 and the total number of discharges in India is said to be 2,84,91,670. With 2330 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the total death tally stands at 3,81,903. There are 8,26,740 active cases for coronavirus and they reached the lowest after 71 days in India. The total number of people who took up the vaccination shot for coronavirus is said to be 26,55,19,251.

Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are the five states with the highest number of infections in the country. The positivity rate in the country stands at 3.48 percent and it is below 5 percent for the 10th day in a row. Kerala added 13,270 new cases in the country and is on the top of the list in the new cases. Tamil Nadu (10,448), Maharashtra (10,107) and Karnataka (7345) continue to report a huge number of cases in the country. The active caseload is less than 5000 in 20 states and union territories of the country. The Union Health Ministry said that there has been 85 percent decline in the cases when compared to the peak load that was traced on May 7th.

730 doctors passed away due to the second wave of coronavirus as per the reports from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and most of the fatalities are reported in Bihar. As per the reports from the Indian Council of Medical Research, the total samples tested for coronavirus in India in the last 24 hours are 19,31,249 and the total samples tested in total till date are said to be 38,52,38,220.
