Narendra Modi Pays Tribute To Vinoba Bhave On His Birth Anniversary

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his tribute to Acharya Vinoba Bhave on his birth anniversary. "Mahatma Gandhi described him as someone who was absolutely against untouchability, unwavering in his commitment to India’s freedom and a firm believer in non-violence as well as constructive work. He was a thinker par excellence. Tributes to Acharya Vinoba Bhave on his Jayanti" posted Narendra Modi on his official social media page. Narendra Modi also tweeted some of the pictures of Vinoba Bhave.

"Acharya Vinoba Bhave carried forward the noble Gandhian principles after India attained independence. His mass movements were aimed at ensuring a better quality of life for the poor and downtrodden. His emphasis on collective spirit will always continue to inspire generations.” added Narendra Modi. Acharya Vinoba is known as Vinayak Narahari Bhave and is named as the National Teacher of India. He is an ardent advocate of human rights and non-violence. He is also named as the Spiritual Successor Mahatma Gandhi and he is known as the originator of the Bhoodan Movement. Vinoba Bhave was fluent in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Urdu, English and Sanskrit.

Vinoba Bhave translated The Gita into Marathi named Geetai. He accepted Samadhi Maran and refused to consume food. He passed away on November 15th, 1982.
