The nation witnessed a huge jump in the daily tally of coronavirus cases and the nation reported 7240 new cases in the last 24 hours. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned the countries of the globe informing that the pandemic is not over yet and he asked the people to be extra cautious. The active cases also witnessed a huge rise and there are 32,498 active cases in the country. Eight people passed away in India yesterday and the country witnessed a 40 percent jump in the new cases of coronavirus. The total number of cases reported in India in total till date are said to be 4,31,97,522.
The total number of recoveries in India are 4,26,40,301. With eight new deaths, the total death tally is said to be 5,24,723. The total number of tests conducted in the country in total for coronavirus are 85,38,63,238 and the tests conducted yesterday are said to be 3,40,615. The total number of vaccination doses administered in India till yesterday are said to be 1,94,59,81,691 and the doses given yesterday alone are 15,43,748 as per the reports from the Indian Council of Medical Research. The number of tests conducted yesterday are 3,40,615. Maharashtra and Kerala have been reporting a high number of cases.
Maharashtra reported 2701 new cases and 1765 have been from Mumbai. The Union Health Ministry asked the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana to take measures as the new cases are rising in these states. The government of Maharashtra made masks mandatory in the state.
