Monsoon Rains To Arrive India In June 1st Week-Indian Meteorological Department(IMD)

India has an update on monsoon rains arrival from the weather office. Monsoons touch through the Southern coast likely from June 1st.

The rainy season which lasts for four months is crucial for agriculture in India. Farmers await the arrival of monsoon season. Indian Meteorological Department(IMD) said in a statement that the rains will start from June 1, 2020 over the Southern state Kerala.

Most of India's agriculture is dependent on monsoon rains for irrigation. The four months from June to September covers the land with rains which is adequate for new crops. The crops include rice, corn, cane, cotton and soybeans.
