About this Event

World-famous tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain and renowned bansuri flutist Rakesh Chaurasia perform a brilliant evening of Indian classical music.

One of the world’s most esteemed and influential musicians, Zakir Hussain is appreciated both in the field of percussion and for his genre-defying collaborations. Rakesh Chaurasia, the nephew and protégé of flute maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, incorporates the tradition of his renowned uncle with his own personal style. Performing jugalbandis with Carnatic and world-famous instrumentalists, Rakesh has already toured as a member of Zakir Hussain’s Masters of Percussion, and played with Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer, and Joshua Redman. He continues to record with the leading stalwarts of the Indian film industry.
