Actor Kiara Advani has responded to rumors that suggested she requested the producers of her upcoming movie Toxic to lessen her romantic scenes with co-actor Yash. The speculation arose as the film directed by Geetu Mohandas continued to get attention online. Reports indicated that Kiara expressed worries after viewing the final cut of the film and asked for certain parts to be removed. It was also mentioned that she had originally agreed to film a daring romantic scene after being promised it would remain comfortable for her, but later had doubts after seeing the finished product. Kiara outright dismissed those claims on social media. By sharing a news article on her Instagram Stories, she stated, "Absolute nonsense. "
The claim appeared in an article that alleged Kiara had talked to Yash and Mohandas, asking for cuts to some intimate scenes in the movie. Her post clearly denied that version of the events. Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was originally planned to premiere on June 4, 2026, but has now been delayed. Yash later confirmed that the film would not be released in theaters on the previous date. In his statement, Yash shared that the film was finished and that the team was currently coordinating global distribution and partnerships. He mentioned, "Toxic is finished, and we are presently working on global distribution and partnerships. Because of this, we have chosen to adjust our release schedule. " He also talked about the positive feedback received at CinemaCon, saying it reinforced the makers' belief that the film should achieve its "greatest potential worldwide. " In another part of his statement, he noted, "Some films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we love movies. Toxic has been one of those journeys. "
Made by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film also stars Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria.
