As an expansion, Reliance is entering into every possible retail market in India. Reliance Industries is now entering into dairy products and will compete with the top brands Amul and Mother Dairy.

Mukhesh Ambani-led Reliance will soon launch ice cream products and will also supply milk. Starting from Gujarat, the brand will be launched throughout India. They are directly planning to have a mega launch of dairy products and planning some key value-added space in the market.

As a move, Reliance has already appointed Amul managing director Rupinder Singh Sodhi to Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, who can help the launch of Reliance into Milk marketing. RS Sodhi worked for 41 years in Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing and that what helped Amul to rule the dairy market. Now his entry into reliance daily is a boost to the company.

Reliance also hired Sandipan Ghosh as the head of the dairy and frozen foods wings of Reliance retail. He has experience of working at Milk Mantra Lactalis India.

Reliance has already entered into the drinks business by launching the dream Campa Cola into the Indian market and now their launch into the dairy market will shock many dairy corporates like Heritage in Andhra Pradesh.
