It's true! There is indeed trouble brewing in Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's paradise.

The lovey-dovey couple, who have been married for six years now, are currently living apart. While Mariah is staying with her kids at their home, Nick has been putting up in hotels.

Despite their thick show of solidarity, things haven't been good between the parents of Monroe and Moroccan for sometime now, we hear. While distance is definitely a factor, it seems Nick's philandering habits and career choices have caused a rift between two loving hearts. Whatever the reason, Mariah is totally devastated by this.

Mariah believes that Nick doesn't really have to work. Despite that, he has been keeping himself busy with gigs and projects. This seems to have become a sore spot in their marriage.

“She has tried and tried to get him to stay home more, but he always uses work as an excuse,” a source added. Of course, Mariah only makes it worse by pointing out that he doesn’t really need to work — “he hates when people assume he’s living off her money.”

The constant bickering over money and girls seems to have taken its toll on their marriage. Mariah even hired a spy to keep an eye on him while he was partying in Las Vegas.

The 45-year-old pop diva got secretly married to Nick on 2008, weeks after they began dating. They renewed their vows again in 2013 with a fairy-tale themed party at California's Disneyland. That led all to believe that all was well between the two.

Not just that. Nick openly said during an interview last year that Mariah is his dream girl and they share a secured relationship.

Mariah Carey was previously married to music mogul Tommy Mottola. They separated in 1998.

Given that Mariah is notoriously private, we wonder how she would react to Nick’s latest overshare about their fledgling marriage.
