David James Elliott will appear in the biopic 'Trumbo'. He will portray Hollywood legend John Wayne in the upcoming film. The Dalton Trumbo biopic will feature Bryan Cranston as the blacklisted screenwriter.

Jay Roach is directing the indie movie. Michael London is producing along with his Groundswell Productions.

Dalton Trumbo had been blacklisted in Hollywood’s golden age for his affiliation to the Communist party.

Actors Peter Mackenzie and Roger Bart are also joining the cast of the film. The indie will also feature John Goodman, Helen Mirren and Diane Lane.

Diane Lane will play the role of Trumbo’s wife; Helen Mirren will play the gossip columnist Hedda Hopper; John Goodman will portray the character of producer Frank King Michael; Stuhlbarg will portray the role of actor Edward G. Robinson.

Peter Mackenzie will essay the role of the liberal defense attorney Robert Kenny. Roger Bart will be playing Buddy Ross, a producer who worked with Dalton Trumbo.

John McNamara has written the script, which is an adaptation of Bruce Cook's book.

Shooting for the film will begin in September in New Orleans.
