
Here is a great opportunity for Houston foodies to be a part of new charity dine in the city. Houston's first Black Restaurant Week will kick off on April 3 and runs through April 10.
The organizers encourage everyone to support African-American-owned businesses. According to the organizers, it is a fundraiser event. They will donate fifteen percent of the special multicourse prix fixe meals at each participating restaurant to the nonprofit organization, Change Happens.The organization runs several program to help homeless people, individuals locate affordable health coverage and run HIV prevention programs.
Participants will have three types of dining option in the event, it includes, brunch, lunch and dinner. The cost for lunch and dinner will range from $45 for a three-course evening meal to $20 for a two-course lunch, while people will need to pay $25 per person for the brunch.
Black Restaurant Week chair, Warren Luckett, said that, "Our city's diversity and history creates a culture unique to Houston." "As our city and its diverse population continues to grow, it's vital that we highlight the black culinary scene and their impact on our community."
