Independence Plaza at space center Houston open to public

The Independence Plaza at Space Center Houston is officially unveiled on January, 23. The plaza is worth of $14 million and is open to the public after three and a half year.
Space Center, Houston reported that,  the display of the plaza is made up of a replica of the space shuttle which is called Independence. The plaza illustrates the key role of the NASA Johnson Space Center played in the development of the shuttle.

The Director of the space center, Dr. Ellen Ochoa, said that, “It’s a unique exhibit, and it’s just different than anything else, anywhere in the country.”

Now, the plaza is open for public which will bring education, excitement and inspiration for the visitors. It will be proved as an impressive landmark for the visitors. The visitors are allowed to walk into the commander’s cockpit and in the rooms of the astronauts, where, they would have conducted their experiments and lived. The plaza also includes a gallery which tells the story about the space shuttle program with  videos, models and pictures.
