The family that eats together, stays together is an oft repeated quote that applies to couples as well. Doing things together creates a bond among the members and it definitely does wonders for your relationship.
Laurie David's book, The Family Dinner: Great Ways to Connect With Your Kids, One Meal at a Time, is a great inspiration for eating together as a family (involving kids), but there is every reason to believe that the idea holds good for married couples and partners as well.
Laurie while stating that the busy schedule of modern lifestyle is tearing families apart, implores families to sit down for the regular ritual of meals (breakfast and dinner at least) to improve upon the various areas of our relationship and lives. The meal is just a reason for sitting down together for a regular conversation, said David.
When the couples share a meal together everyday, the communication channel is open and ensures a healthy relation. Newly wedded couples stand to gain a lot from eating together as they get to know about their spouse every day upon which they can build a strong married relationship. However busy you are, it pays to eat together every once in a while, if not regularly. Eating together helps your relation by building intimacy, passion and also deepens love with your partners. If you can't cook at home eat outside, but a candlelight dinner at home is definitely more romantic. Besides, when you plan and cook together, there is a greater bonding with your partner.
