A day will come when you will be meeting your partner’s ex. It could be that you just bump into the ex at a restaurant or it happens to be a party where the ex will also turn up, something you can be prepared. Meeting the ex is something we all are uncomfortable with. Here are a few tips how to deal with the ex in your relationship.

Be cordial

Avoid being overly friendly or hostile to his/her ex. Maintain a cordial act and be nice to the person. You don’t need to be too friendly. Also don’t be a bad person and give a cold shoulder to his/her ex.

Get rid of insecurity

There is no reason to be insecure about his/her ex. They broke up for a reason and your partner is with you and not the ex. So chill and be cool. But if you feel that there is still something between your partner and the ex then talk it out at a private moment.

Don’t act competitive

The ex is no longer in competition. Remember they broke up and you are his/her present. So there is no need to be envious and act competitive. Also make it a point not to stick to your partner, it reflects insecurity.

Maintain your dignity

Whenever you meet your partner's ex make sure that you maintain your dignity at all times. It’s important that you respect yourself and also ensure that your partner respects you before his/her ex or otherwise also.
