Relationships can have a fairytale end or it may end with heartbreak. We all know this, yet most people find it difficult to cope when they have a break up. This is more so for couples who had been in a long-term relationship. There are many ways to cope with a break up from your spouse or partner. Here are few ways to deal with a break up.
Take a short break
Coping with a break up becomes easier with a change of scene. Plan a short holiday or a weekend trip. The trip will take your mind off the break up. So take out your travel bags and visit your favourite destination. After the short vaccation you will feel re-invigorated and can start afresh.
Your feelings will heal with time
Don't panic if you feel depressed or low. It takes time to get over the feelings, so give time to yourself. Plan a short break from your day-to-day routine life. You can mop over the break up for a day or two. It's ok, you are only being human. After the sad phase you can move on to start a new chapter in your life.
Never go public about the break up
Never announce your break up on social media, it's the worst mistake you can do. Your relationship and the break up is a personal matter, and you should keep it private. Maintain your dignity. There is no point abusing and cursing your Ex in public. The best thing to do is to take a break from social media, if possible.
Pursue a new hobby
Keeping yourself busy is the best way to cope with a break up. A hobby keeps your mind occupied with other things of interest. Take up a hobby that will make you happy. You can enrol for a dance class, learn to play a new instrument, do charity work or read a book. Remember, the hobby should be of interest to you to make you happy. Don't go for dance class if you have two left feet as it will make you all the more unhappy. Do it at another time when you are in a happier frame of mind.
