Sharing your bed with someone who snores can be deafeningly dreadful. Your partner's labored breathing can be bad enough to keep you up all night and turn you into a zombie by the day. So how do you deal with those woeful wheeze?
Sleep apnea is one bane that plagues most bedrooms. And no matter how tempted you are to stuff that pillow up your partners face or pack him/her off to a different room, you know that is cruel!
Thankfully, scientists have come up with a smart pillow to save you from those noisy nights. The 'snore activated nudging pillow' is smart in a way that no sooner it detects snoring, it gently nudges your partner to change positions or wake them up gently, without waking you up.
Equipped with an integrated microphone that picks up the sonic vibrations of snoring, the pillow automatically inflates three inches taller, big enough for the sleeper to shift their position or roll sideways.
Sleeping on your side reduces snoring as the base of the tongue does not collapse into the back of the throat, obstructing breathing.
The device has a 30-minute delay setting to allow the user to fall asleep. Furthermore, it comes with a panel of buttons on the side that can be adjusted according to the snorers sensitivity or needs.
It comes filled with polyurethane and its shape is designed to cradle the head, while its polyester cover and be removed and washed.
The pillow is available in New York-based online gadget retailer Hammacher Schlemmer for £92 ($149).
