BMWs, Mercedes, Jaguars, Audis or the SUVs that can handle rough roads are the hot favourites of India's wealthy politicians. From Arun Jaitley to Hema Malini these luxury cars find a pride of place in the garages of India's rich political leaders.
BJP leader Arun Jaitley, who is a lawyer by profession, is the proud owner of a Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Toyota Fortuner and Honda Accord. His poll affidavit shows his income for the 2012-13 fiscal year to be Rs 2.61 crore. Arun Jaitley will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections 2014 from Amritsar.
Actress and politician Hema Malini, BJP candidate from Mathura, has declared a Toyota Innova and Mercedes in her affidavit. Besides her husband Dharmendra, owns Range Rover, Maruti 800 and a motorbike.
Manoj Tiwari, BJP candidate from North East Delhi constituency, declared several cars in his affidavit. The Bhojpuri film star owns a Mercedez Benz E280, Audi Q7, Honda City
GXI and Fortuner.
R Prabhakara Reddy, one of the wealthiest candidates in this Lok Sabha elections, has declared nine vehicles in his assets. His fleet of cars include two Mercedes, a BMW, Skoda Rider, Hyundai Accent, Hyundai Santro, Maruti 800 and Mahindra Jeep. He also owns a Royal Enfield Bullet. Reddy is the JD(S) candidate from Bangalore Rural constituency.
Haryana Janhit Congress party chief Kuldeep Bishnoi has declared five cars in his affidavit. His fleet of cars include an Audi Q7, a Jaguar XF and a Range Rover.
B. Sreeramulu, BJP candidate from Bellary, Karnataka, is the proud owner of the iconic Hummer.
Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has declared a BMW, which he inherited from his father, among his assets.
BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi, doesn't own a vehicle, but her husband, Aman Lekhi, owns a fleet of cars. Aman Lekhi, a lawyer by profession, owns a BMW, Jaguar, Beetle and Chevrolet cars.
AAP candidate actress Gul Panag, contesting from Chandigarh, owns a Scorpio, Audi, Innova, TVS moped and a Hero Honda bike.
AAP leader Shazia Ilmi declared one yacht in her husband's name among her list of assets.
