The grapple between former CM Nitish Kumar and present CM Jitan Ram Manjhi is becoming very different and unseen dynamics in Indian politics. As JD(U) wants Nitish to be the next CM by ousting Manjhi, The BJP in Bihar decided to support Manjhi group in assembly. Before the confidence test on floor, Bihar assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary notified Vijay Chaudhary of JD(U) as the Leader of Opposition, replacing BJP's Nand Kishore Yadav, on the demand made by Nitish the status of the principal Opposition party to his JD(U).
While the BJP is protesting over the speaker’s bias towards the JD(U) leaders and his stand agaist constitutional procedure. Though BJP has offered unconditional support to Manjhi, it has never given any written support.
While the legislators of JD(U), who are supporting the Nitish camp, alleging BJP and Manjhi supporters about the horse trading policies. Manjhi has openly said that he had never begged any one party’s support; he just has asked the support of MLAs in Bihar assembly irrespective of their parties.
122 members’ support is required to form the government. RJD, Congress are supporting Nitish Kumar, while, BJP and some of the JD(U) members are supporting Manjhi to continue in the post.
