Indian Prime Minister, who is in Sri Lanka, is planning visit the sacred city of Anuradhapura, the capital of North Central Province, will be accompanied by the President of Sri Lanka Maitripala Sirisena and PM Wickremesinghe.
The Indian Prime Minister will also visit the Tamil-dominated Talaimannar and Jaffna in the Northern province, which is considered as a war-ravaged region in Sri Lanka, during this trip also the Leaders of Sri Lanka will accompany him.
Prior to Indian PM Narendra Modi, Britain PM David Cameron was the first foreign PM to visit the Jaffna region, he visited the turbulent region in November 2013.
According to the media reports, Indian PM is pushing the Sri Lanka government to consider autonomous status to the Northern Province of Sri Lanka, where Tamils are majority. LTTE fought for separate country status to this region only.
