After huge pressure from Indian and US, Pakistan government has again detained Zaki-ur-Rahman, who allegedly masterminded the 26/11 Mumbai attack in 2008. The move by the government came a day after the Islamabad High court terminated his detention for three months. After the court’s decision to free him, Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit was given summons by Indian authorities.

The Barbaric Mumbai attacks claimed 166 lives and many have got seriously injured. Lakhvi is one of the seven accused, who have been tried in Pakistan. BJP said that the government has taken the issue seriously and convey its message in stronger way, so that Pakistan ensured Zakiur Rehman’s detention.

"We learnt a day ago that Lakhvi was to be released due to a court order in Pakistan. The Indian Government, the MEA in fact called for the Pakistani envoy Abdul Basit and had a strong message conveyed to Pakistan through Basit that India is absolutely upset and India is not going to take this and if Lakhvi was released then it would affect Indo-Pak relations and because of this strong message we get the news that Pakistan is restraining Lakhvi in jail," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said.
