Conservative’s Hindi Campaign to Lure Indian voters

The impact of the Indian Diaspora can contribute in the upcoming general elections on June 8. The Conservative Party has released a new campaign song in ‘Hindi,’ in an attempt to woo nearly 1.6 million people of Indian community in the United Kingdom.

The Conservative Friends of India (CFI) co-chair along with UK-based Indian businessman Ranjit S Baxi have produced the song “Theresa Ke Saath” and the song calls on Indian-origin voters to back May as UK’s Prime Minister for the next five years.

According to a statement released by the production team, “The song has been especially composed for the General Election to promote connectivity with the 1.6 million Indian Diaspora to support Theresa May, who will provide a strong and stable leadership for the Untied Kingdom and growth of the nation’s economy.”

“Every vote that goes for May is a vote for stronger UK with the benefits felt by everyone across the nation. We need ac country that works for everyone.”

Theresa May wants to build a strong trade partnership with India and engage actively with the Indian community in the UK.

Pandit Dinesh have written, composed by Pandit Dinesh with vocals by Indian-origin artists, including Navin Kundra, Rubayyatt Jahan, Urmi Chakraborty, Raja Kasaf and Ketan Kansra.

Milan Handa, Chris Nolan and Mauro have provided the music and the video features the snapshots of Theresa May during her visit to India last November and dressed in Indian traditional outfits at various Indian community events in the United Kingdom.

The video is available on YouTube. It calls on voters to “join hands with May to make Conservatives win. Five years with Theresa/For the Pride of Britain".

The team released a similar Hindi Song during 2015 May general election, for former Prime Minister David Cameron’s victory.

"Neela Hai Aasman (Blue Sky)", in reference to the symbolic blue colour of the party, had called on voters to join hands with Cameron then, who went on to win a majority for the party, but had to resign as PM following Britain's vote to leave the European Union (EU) in the June 2016 referendum.
