A total number of 2,55,874 new cases of coronavirus are reported in India in the last 24 hours and the new cases saw a decline in the last two days. The total tally of cases reported in India in total climbed to 3,97,99,202 as per the reports from the Union Health Ministry. With 614 new deaths, the total death tally in the country climbed to 4,90,462. There are 22,36,842 active cases in India currently and they comprise of 5.62 percent of the total infections. The recovery rate of the country dipped down to 93.15 percent and there is a reduction of 12,493 cases in the active numbers in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate in India is reported to be 15.52 percent and the weekly positivity rate is said to be 17.17 percent as per the Health Ministry.
The total number of recoveries due to coronavirus in India are said to be 3,70,71,898. The total doses of vaccinations administered in India are 162.92 crores. India reported less than 3 lakh cases for the second consecutive day in the country. The daily tally is the lowest since one week which is a relief. The cases also saw a downward trend in the states of Delhi and Maharashtra. Indian ex-cricketer and opener Gautam Gambhir is tested positive for Covid-19 today. 171 deaths are reported in Kerala and Tamil Nadu reported 46 deaths while 45 deaths are reported in Punjab. The Indian fatality rate is reported as 1.23 percent. The global tally of coronavirus is reported to be 354.3 million and death toll climbed to 5.60 million.
