Tomorrow, a series of discussions led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to take place as the nation assesses its security measures following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals in Jammu and Kashmir last week. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), the top authority responsible for national security decisions, is scheduled to convene around 11 am. This meeting represents the second high-level consultation since the Pahalgam incident. It is anticipated that security arrangements will be a key topic of this gathering. Following the CCS meeting, the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) will also convene under the leadership of PM Modi. Members of the CCPA include Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Health Minister JP Nadda, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, among other senior officials.

Following this, the Economic Affairs Committee of the Cabinet will meet, after which a cabinet meeting will occur. In the most recent CCS meeting held on Thursday, just two days post the Pahalgam attack, the committee evaluated the overall security landscape of the country and heightened the alert status of the armed forces, pledging to ensure justice for the assailants. In light of Pakistan's involvement in the Pahalgam attack, the committee determined to suspend the Indus Water Treaty, a significant water-sharing deal with Islamabad. Additionally, it halted SAARC visas, closed the Wagah-Attari border, and downgraded diplomatic relations with Pakistan. The government also instructed all Pakistanis residing in India to return to their homeland by Sunday, allowing a grace period until Tuesday for those holding medical visas. In retaliation, Pakistan announced the suspension of all bilateral agreements with India, including the Simla Agreement.
