In a development that will please travelers who have faced significant disruption due to IndiGo's issues, the government has announced that flight schedules are likely to stabilize by Saturday, with a full return to normal operations expected by Monday. On Friday, when over 500 IndiGo flights were canceled for the second consecutive day, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu mentioned that a thorough investigation has been initiated to hold those responsible accountable.

Explaining the temporary suspension of certain rules meant to guarantee rest for pilots and crew, Naidu stated that this decision was made to prioritize passengers, assuring that safety would not be compromised.

"Moreover, several actions have been taken to ensure that regular airline operations are restored as soon as possible and that the disruptions experienced by travelers are minimized. With these measures being put in place immediately, we hope that flight schedules will begin to stabilize and normalcy will return by tomorrow. We expect to have all services completely restored within three days," the minister shared. Regarding assistance for travelers, Naidu mentioned that airlines have been ordered to give timely and precise updates so that passengers can know their flight statuses before heading to the airport. He emphasized that refunds will be processed automatically, so passengers won't need to chase them, and airlines will arrange for hotel stays for those left stranded for extended periods.

"Particular attention is being given to elderly travelers and those with disabilities. They will receive lounge access and all possible help to make their travel experience easier. In addition, refreshments and necessary services will be made available to all passengers affected by delays," he added.
