FMCG leader Nestle India has dismissed claims spreading on social media about a supposed infestation in Maggi noodles. They stated that lab evaluations of a batch and market samples show that these products meet all quality and safety guidelines. In a statement to stock exchanges, the company noted it was informed of the issue by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) after concerns were raised by an unknown account on the social media site X. "We firmly deny the claims circulating in the media based on an unverified account about an infestation allegedly found in MAGGI noodles," Nestle India stated in response to an inquiry from the NSE and the BSE regarding a media article released on June 12.
The business mentioned it has "not yet received" any samples from the complainant for evaluation and did not get any feedback from them, noting that the social media account was unresponsive. "Following standard procedure, a reference sample from the same batch was sent for testing to an independent lab recognized by FSSAI and accredited by NABL, which confirmed that the sample was free from any infestation," Nestle India explained. The company further stated it had carried out quality checking on both the batches and market samples, and the lab results verified compliance with quality standards, confirming there was no infestation of any kind. Nestle India indicated it has previously submitted a comprehensive representation to the appropriate authorities, which includes quality documents, batch and market sample information, and testing results. "A thorough representation, along with all pertinent facts, quality documents from batch and market samples, and test results, has already been given to FSSAI regarding their investigation query," Nestle India mentioned.
The company emphasized that it upholds strict quality and food safety practices in its manufacturing processes and is completely transparent with regulatory bodies. "We believe that the facts and evidence will ultimately clarify the truth of the situation," it stated.
