Hyderabad City police on Tuesday has issued warning against attempting the viral KiKi Challenge that prompts people to jump out of a moving car to dance. Telangana Police Rescue Minors from Brothel August 01, 2018 10:38

The Telangana Police Department on Tuesday arrested eight alleged traffickers after conducting a raid along with She Team on a brothel in Yadagirigutta.Eleven minors, including girls under the age of five, were located by police. The girls were raised by suspects and ultimately pushed them into commercial sexual exploitation. Idukki Dam: Authorities Announce Orange Alert July 31, 2018 12:42

Kerala government has proclaimed an Orange alert along the banks of the Periyar, with the water levels in the Idukki dam rising to 2395 feet on Monday night.Rescue and relief teams have been deployed in both Idukki and Ernakulam districts to take over in the event of the dam's shutters being opened.On Monday morning the water levels in the dam were at 2394.64 feet. Following steady rainfall, the water levels rose to 2395 prompting the government to issue the Orange alert. The alert, also known as Code Orange, is the second level of the three alerts issued by the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) to warn those living close to the river.Further, when the levels reach 2399 ft, a red alert will be issued. A set of guidelines for multiplexes and cinema halls have been unveiled by the Telangana Civil Supplies Department on Sunday across the state to follow from August 1.It stated that they cannot charge about the Minimum Retail Price (MRP) for food and drink items sold. If found selling water bottles, cool drinks and other food items above the Minimum Retail Price (MRP) the establishments will face heavy penalties and also imprisonment.As per the new rules, the sale of food items that are sold loose in containers must be printed with weight, quantity, manufacturing date, expiry and MRP on them. At least 33 dead and one person severely injured after a bus they were traveling plunged into a 500 ft gorge in Ambenali Ghat region of Maharashtra's Raigad district on Saturday.Nearly 34 staff members of the Dapoli Agriculture University were headed to Mahabaleshwar when the bus met with an accident.NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) teams have been rushed to the area and rescue operations are on.The tragedy occurred sometime after 9 a.m. at the Ambenali Ghat near Poladpur when the bus slid off the mountainous road and crashed into the gorge.One of the passengers, identified as Prakash Rajaram Savant Desai, reportedly survived the accident as he jumped from the bus. India has been designated as a nodal Center to improve preparedness for flash floods by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).According to Dr. Madhavan Rajeevan, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, it means India will have to develop a customized model that can issue an advance warning of floods in Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Thailand.On the sidelines of the Earth Sciences Foundation Day, Dr. Rajeevan said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) would be working to customize a weather model, developed by the United States and donated to the WMO, to warn of flash floods at least six hours in advance.The test version is being tried out by the Meteorological Department.By Sowmya Sangam
