U.P. Police Rescues 24 Girls Sexually Abused In Shelter Homes August 06, 2018 16:30

Police have rescued 24 girls from a shelter home on Monday in a town in eastern Uttar Pradesh after allegations of their sexual exploitation came to light, news agency PTI reported. A couple who were managers at the shelter home and its superintendent have been arrested.Women and Child Welfare Minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sent a high-level investigation team to the town for on-the-spot inquiry and asked them to prepare the report by tonight, The district magistrate has also been removed.A total of 42 girls reportedly stay in the house, of which 18 are said to be missing. The home has been sealed. "Twenty-four girls were rescued yesterday from the shelter home that houses 42 inmates. Eighteen inmates are still missing. We have sealed it," PTI quoted a police official as saying.The incident came to light after a girl escaped from there and intimated the police. A Mi-8 helicopter has crashed in the Krasnoyarsk region of Siberia, Russia killing 18 people, including three crew members, according to preliminary reports.Russia's emergencies ministry said the MI-8 went down at 10.20 a.m., about 180km from the town of Igarka, the BBC reported.No other inside information was provided by the ministry.The chopper was run by the Utair airline, according to an emergency services source cited by TASS, a Russian news agency.The helicopter was transporting workers of Vankor company to an oil well when the crash occurred not long after take-off.Its fuel tanks were said to be full, resulting in an inferno that reportedly completely incinerated the aircraft, express.co.uk reported.The cause of the crash was not instantly known.By Sowmya Sangam

A passenger at Air India Milan-Delhi flight attempted to forcefully enter the plane's cockpit which consequently led the flight to return to the Italian airport not long after take-off.According to Air Indian spokesperson, the incident took place on Thursday, following which the passenger on AI 138 was deboarded and handed over to the local police for investigation.The passenger named Gurupreet Singh, an Indian-origin's misconduct led to a delay of 2 hours and 35 minutes. Telangana Legal Metrology Department officials on Thursday began a crackdown on theaters and multiplexes in Hyderabad, who were charging over the MRP (Maximum Retail Price), despite a clear list of guidelines being issues. "Seven teams headed by Assistant Controllers Bhaskar Reddy, Jaganmohan Reddy, Vijayasarathi, Nirmal Kumar, Rajeshwar, Shivanand, with 30 members participated in the raids. On Thursday, special checks were conducted at 20 multiplexes and 18 multiplexes were found to be violating the rules. 54 cases were booked against them," a press release stated.Officials said that two cases were registered in Prasads Imax while six cases were registered in GVK one in Banjara Hills. Three cases were also registered in PVR-Icon situated in Madhapur. Jazeera flight (J9 608) had a narrow escape which comprised over 150 passengers and crew that was traveling from Kuwait to Hyderabad. The aircraft's right engine caught fire soon after landing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad, on Thursday.According to an airport official, the engine caught fire due to technical problem minutes after it landed at the airport while approaching the parking bay.The official added that the aircraft landed at 1.33 a.m. and at 1.36 a.m. the crew noticed the fire. The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) on Tuesday asked people to refrain sharing their 12-digit Aadhaar number on the internet and social media, and pose such challenges to others. The decision comes a few days after the outgoing Chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, R.S. Sharma, made his Aadhaar number public, throwing an open challenge to users to "do any harm to me." Sharma had said the motive was to ridicule the theory that Aadhaar compromises the privacy of a person. Pursuing suit, a lot of people started posting their Aadhaar numbers online.UIDAI Said that the Aadhaar number is personally sensitive information like bank account number, passport number and PAN (Permanent Account Number), which should be shared only on a need basis for a legitimate use for establishing identity and for legitimate transactions.By Sowmya Sangam
