While promoting 'Kill Dil', Ranveer Singh was unaware that his phone, which was kept aside, was ringing.

However, members of the media and those present at the venue saw a unique name flashing on Ranveer’s phone

According to reports, the phone's screen flashed — 'Deepika Alternative' and left those around him quite surprised.

Ranveer was committed to finish the interaction and did not pick up the call from 'Deepika Alternative' at that point in time.

Many kept wondering whether it was really Deepika Padukone or some other contact is not known.

talking to a website in India Singh cleared the controversy saying, "This is really silly. I have two numbers of Deepika. One I have saved it as Deepika and the other I have saved it as Deepika Alternative. It is as simple as that."

In fact, Ranveer also says that he has saved 'Kill Dil' co-star Parineeti's number in the same fashion.
