Fans of 'Rock On', will be elated to know that Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal have been roped in for the 2008 cult musical film. Ritesh Sidhwani has retained the cast of the original movie that had Farhan and Arjun besides Purab Kohli. Hunt is on for others in the sequel.

The sequel of this popular youth film will be directed by Shujaat Saudagar, ad filmmaker of Boot Polissh Films. Abhishek Kapoor (Gattu) had directed 'Rock On', the original film. Shooting for this movie will begin on January 2015.

'Rock On' is an Indian rock musical film of 2008. The film is about a grunge rock band, "Magik" based in Mumbai. Actors Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny and Purab Kohli are members of the rock band that was formed in 1998 and reunites in 2008. Produced by Farhan Akhtar, the film was written and directed by Abhishek Kapoor. Music was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Farhan Akhtar and Prachi Desai had debuted in this movie. Rock On didn't fare well at the box office, but had earned critical acclaim.
