Mohit Suri's 'Ek Villain' has entered the 100-crore club. The romatic thriller was made at a budget of Rs 35 crores and collected Rs.101.32 crore at the box office in the domestic market.
This film is Riteish Deshmukh's third film to cross the 100 crore mark. The earlier two films to touch the magic figure were Grand Masti and Housefull 2.
'Ek Villain' was released on June 27, to a positive review from film critics. Buoyed by the suspense and good music, the film collected more than 50 crore within three days of it's release.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh Twitter post read: "#EkVillain [Week 2] Mon 2.50 cr, Tue 2.20 cr, Wed 2 cr, Thu 1.74 cr. Grand total: ₹ 101.32 cr nett. India biz. BLOCKBUSTER."
Talks about Sidharth Malhotra playing a character with shades of grey, Shraddha Kapoor's cheerful personality and Riteish Deshmukh's brilliant portrayal of a serial killer proved to be a crowd puller for the romantic thriller.
This film is Sidharth Malhotra's first in the 100-crore club. For Mohit Suri and Shraddha Kapoor Ek Villain is the second movie in the 100-crore club.
