Tesla India is preparing to open its second showroom in the country, following the one in Mumbai. This new facility will be located in Aerocity, Delhi, close to the IGI airport. The dealership is currently being built and is almost finished. Images of the construction have been posted on social media, indicating that it will start operating shortly. Once the showroom is operational, Tesla will be able to assist customers in Delhi and the surrounding national capital region. The Tesla Model Y has recently been launched in India. On the same day, the company's official website for the Indian market went live. At first, buyers could only register their cars in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Gurugram. However, the company has updated its website to let customers register their vehicles in any state or union territory throughout the country. This means that future customers can book and register their Teslas in their home states.

Moreover, the website indicates that the prices for cars on the road may change based on various factors. It also mentions that customers in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram will be given priority for deliveries. Once the process is completed, the vehicle will be delivered directly to the customer's address using a flat-bed truck. While the self-driving feature is available in India for Rs 6 lakh, it will be rolled out at a later date. The company has introduced both the rear-wheel drive and long-range rear-wheel drive versions of the car in India. The initial cost for the rear-wheel drive model is Rs 59.89 lakh, while the long-range model costs Rs 67.89 lakh. Therefore, the on-road price for the RWD version amounts to Rs 61.07 lakh. In comparison, the long-range version's on-road price is Rs 69.15 lakh. The rear-wheel drive Tesla Model Y in India offers a choice between a 60 kWh battery or a bigger 75 kWh battery. The RWD model is powered by a single electric motor that produces about 295 hp. Additionally, the 60 kWh battery claims a WLTP range of 500 km when fully charged, whereas the long-range version is reported to have a range of 622 km.
