Budget airline IndiGo revealed on Thursday that it will start flying from Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, on June 15, 2026. IndiGo will be the first airline to offer commercial flights from this newly opened airport. The airline plans to gradually roll out direct flights connecting Noida International Airport to more than 16 locations all over India, including major cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad, as well as smaller cities such as Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Jaipur, Lucknow, Navi Mumbai, Pantnagar, and Srinagar.

Reservations for the flights can be made step by step through IndiGo's website www.goIndiGo.in, their mobile app, or via approved travel partners, according to a statement from the airline. "Noida International Airport (NIA), located strategically on the Yamuna Expressway, will serve as the new entry point for western Uttar Pradesh and the NCR," stated Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer of IndiGo.

"Major metropolitan areas in India are evolving to support several airports, and IndiGo is delighted to be part of this change by operating at all three airports in the NCR - IGI Airport, Hindon, and now NIA. As we keep growing our services, we aim to provide low-cost, timely, and smooth travel experiences throughout our extensive network," Singh continued. One of India's largest greenfield airport projects, Noida International Airport is expected to become a key gateway for local and, eventually, international travelers. The airport is designed with a vision for comprehensive multi-modal transportation, backed by strong road and rail connections that will link Delhi-NCR with the larger western Uttar Pradesh area. The introduction of IndiGo's operations from NIA will improve access for passengers across the National Capital Region (NCR), strengthen domestic travel links, and support aviation growth driven by infrastructure in India.

The initial phase of Noida International Airport has been created with a total investment of about Rs 11,200 crore under a Public-Private Partnership framework. Initially, the airport will handle 12 million travelers per year, with the potential to expand to accommodate up to 70 million travelers per year in its final stage.
