Do you often complain of  a bloated gut, gas, acidity, indigestion? If so, watch what you are eating. Often the root cause of these stomach banes can be traced back to what you have previously eaten during the day. Here is a small list of food to eat or avoid to save yourself from stomach ailments.

1. Go easy on dairy products: If you are intolerant to lactose, i.e., your body can't  break down milk sugar in dairy foods, then you will probably need enzymes to help digest lactose. In extreme cases, it would do you good to forego milk completely.

2. Cut down on sugar: Too much of sugar can suppresses your immune system and irritate your intestinal tract. Hence, minimize your sugar intake.

3. Go for small meals: Eating five to six small meals a day will  keep your system alive and kicking.

4. Keep yourself hydrated: Guzzle a lot of fluid during the day to keep all ailments away.

5. Stay away from these!: Gassy foods like chhole, rajma, cabbage, cauliflower, green pepper, and caffeine should be avoided if you frequently complain of bloated stomach.

6. Chew what you eat: Healthy digestion begins inside your mouth. Chew slowly and thoroughly so that the food mixes with saliva enzymes before reaching your gut for easy, effective digestion.
