Actress Jane Fonda has been honoured with the American Film Institute's 42nd Life Achievement Award. The 76-year-old actress was honoured by Hollywood stars recently.

Fonda was very happy to be conferred the award and said that she was pleased to add another woman's name to the list of female winners of the Life Achievement Award.

The American actress rose to fame in the 1960s with films like Barbarella and Cat Ballou. Earlier, Fonda has been honoured with two Academy Awards, an Emmy Award and seven Golden Globe Awards (which includes 3 special awards) among her many accolades.

Peter Fonda, (Jane Fonda's brother) said that he was proud of his sister and was sure that their Dad was proud of her as well.

Michael Douglas, who gave away the award to t Jane Fonda said that, the actress was a true film royalty, an attribute acquired through talent and not by birth.
