Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day are likely to appear in the film 'Vacation'. The actors are in talks with New Line Cinema to sign in for the remake of the classic 1980s comedy series, which had starred Chevy Chase.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will make their directorial debut with this film. Daley and Goldstein have also written the script for this project. David Dobkin and Chris Bender are producing this movie.

Ed Helms will play the role of Rusty Griswold in this comedy reboot-remake. He will play the grown-up son of Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase). In the new movie Griswold takes his family on a vacation - road trip similar to the one his parents took him and sister when they were young.

Christina Applegate will play Rusty’s wife. Chase and Beverly D’Angelo will appear in cameo roles in this film.

Shooting for the project will begin in September.

Chris Hemsworth will play the role of Stone Crandall, who is the husband of Rusty’s sister, Audrey. The cast of Audrey is yet to be finalised.

Charlie Day will play cameo role of a river-rafting guide.

Hemsworth's upcoming films include 'In the Heart of the Sea' and 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron'. While Day's upcoming movies include 'Horrible Bosses 2'.
