Keith Stanfield is likely to play the role of Snoop Dogg in Universal’s 'Straight Outta Compton'. The upcoming film will be a hip-hop group NWA biopic.

F Gary Gray is directing the movie, which has been scripted by Jonathan Herman.

The story of the film follows the rise and fall of the legendary rap group N.W.A.

The 23-year-old actor is likely to play the character of young Snoop Dogg in the movie, while O'Shea Jackson Jr will play his father Ice Cube.

Corey Hawkins will play the role of Dr Dre and Jason Mitchell will portray the late Eazy-E. Aldis Hodge and Neil Brown Jr will be playing the role of MC Ren and DJ Yella respectively.

Cube and Dre are producing the biopic in association with Eazy-E's widow Tomica Woods-Wright.

'Straight Outta Compton' will release on August 14, 2015.
