Since last week, a self-proclaimed Godwoman ‘Radhe Maa’, who was not much known earlier, has suddenly entered news headlines everywhere. Her photos in skimpy red dress, which were tweeted by Rahul Mahajan, went viral last week on social media.
The social media was in all laughs at her wardrobe and flashy make-up. Indians have witnessed a real-life drama of Radhe Maa who claimed to be an incarnation of Durga. Sukhvinder Kaur turned as Radhe Maa who is a 50-year-old self-professed guru.
Dowry harassment complaint on Radhe Maa
Radhe Maa came into light after a 32-year-old woman has logged a complaint against the Godwoman claiming that she was mentally and physically tortured by her husband’s family on the order of Radhe Maa. Mumbai Police will question Radhe Maa on this dowry harassment complaint today. Earlier, Mumbai court denied anticipatory bail to Radhe Maa.
She was alleged by the complainant's lawyer that Radhe Maa was likely to escape to Bangkok and also alleged that his client received threatening calls because of filing a complaint against Radhe Maa.
The lawyer said, "Our main objection to her bail was that she is likely to abscond and that is why she wants to avoid appearing before the police on Friday."
Allegations by the lawyer included Radhe Maa being the "decision-maker in the family”; his client was beaten up whenever she refused to do domestic work for Radhe Maa.
Radhe Maa denies allegations
All these allegations were denied by Radhe Maa having said that she was dragged into the case as the family was her devotees. Police said earlier that the chances of arresting the Godwomen were less as there was no concrete evidence against her in dowry harassment case as of now.
Usually seen dressed in garish red and gold and holding a trident, Radhe Maa also faces allegations of obscenity, cheating and hurting religious sentiment. Falguni Brahmbhatt, a city lawyer, accused Radhe Maa for kissing and hugging her devotees and thus, filed obscenity case against her.
