The Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that Article 370 is now history and will never be reinstated in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. During a press conference, he said the last 10 years have been pivotal for the country and the region, and urged people to vote for the BJP to continue good governance. Shah released the BJP's election manifesto for the upcoming J&K Assembly polls, which will be held in three phases. He also criticized the agenda of the National Conference party, stating that Article 370 has only provided weapons and encouraged terrorism among the youth.

The Home Minister stated that the government will not allow interference with the reserved areas allocated to the Gujjars, Bakerwals, and Pahadis. He also mentioned that terrorism will be completely eliminated from Jammu and Kashmir. The Home Minister said a report will be published to hold accountable those responsible for the rise of terrorism in the region. He urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to vote for the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections, promising that if given a five-year term, the party will ensure the development of the region.
