The delay of the wedding between singer-composer Palash Muchhal and Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana, originally planned for November 23, has taken a new twist after the event planning company managing the wedding released a public message online. Krayonz Entertainment, responsible for organizing the elaborate event, put out a mysterious post on Instagram last week, following the pause in the celebration activities, which sparked fresh rumors across social media. Immediately after the festivities stopped, the company shared on Instagram, "We don’t win every match in the game of Life, but having a sportsmanlike attitude is what matters most. Our team worked tirelessly, filled with Joy & Pride, and they certainly deserve a shoutout! Catch you soon, Champion." This post has now gained widespread attention, with many expressing appreciation for its supportive tone, while others quickly dove into speculation.
"Does this mean the rumors are true?" one person wrote. Another commented, "Catch you soon? Does that suggest the marriage will occur?" One individual said, "thank you to everyone for handling this sensitive situation with such grace :)" The couple was meant to get married on November 23. However, the festivities stopped when Smriti's father became seriously ill and needed to be taken to the hospital on their wedding day. Concerns multiplied: on November 24, Palash was also admitted to a hospital in Sangli, Smriti's hometown, before being moved to Mumbai. The cricketer’s business manager confirmed that the wedding was postponed because of the health crises affecting both families. Up until then, the couple's pre-wedding events had been going strong. The Mehendi and Haldi celebrations occurred beautifully, and many videos showcasing the joyful moments had circulated widely on fan accounts. This is why the following developments only heightened public interest.
What really sparked a buzz on social media was Smriti removing all her wedding photos from Instagram. However, both families later explained that the delay was solely due to health issues. Smriti's father and Palash have both been released from the hospital, but neither family has set a new date yet. Observing the growing excitement, Smriti and Palash quietly changed their Instagram bios to include the nazar emoticon. This did not calm down the internet; in fact, it only stirred new theories about possible meanings and hidden messages. Amita, Palash's mother, has been outspoken over the last few days, expressing her hope that the wedding will indeed take place soon. In the meantime, Palash's sister Palak went on Instagram to ask for privacy, requesting that people refrain from speculating about the family's situation.
Smriti's brother, Shravan Mandhana, also addressed the rumors yesterday. He talked about these claims and indicated that no plans had been made. He told HT, "I have no knowledge of these rumors. For now, (the wedding) is still on hold." Amid the unfolding situation, Smriti Mandhana also missed her shoot for Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 with Amitabh Bachchan, though many of her team members will take part in an upcoming episode this Friday.
